As an artist, I particularly enjoy drawing people. I'm most comfortable with pencil -- I use a .5 mechanical to do all of my drawings -- but am also eager to delve into new media. Although a good deal of my art is monochromatic pencil drawings or sketches (I love gray -- it's neutral and goes with anything, especially itself), I love to experiment with lighting and colour.
Upon perusing my portfolio, it may become apparent that several of my pieces are historical in subject. Along with art, history, especially that of classical civilisations, is a great passion of mine, and so often I combine the two.
Perhaps the best example of all of this is my piece, The Blind Visionary. This is perhaps my most adventurous piece, as I played a lot with unusual colours. The idea was that Alexander the Great, the subject of the piece, is truly a visionary in many ways -- he embarks on this great journey to conquer the world, to spread the excellence of Greece to all corners of the Earth, but his vision is so broad, so grand, that he cannot see, is blinded to the dangers that he faces -- he doesn't see what he's doing to his men, to his empire. But to me he presented the perfect inspiration, which culminated in a piece that combines art, history, and vivid colours (although the photo does not do them justice; they look much nicer in person).
But I believe that art is not confined to merely paints and pencils and canvases, but qualifies as any form of creative, visual or performing expression, so here I present also samples of my photography, graphic design, and writing.
